SFA Elements Exhibition Reception - Thursday October 17, 2019 | 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

DENALI:

ARTISTS respond to MUSIC inspired by WILDERNESS

Come to the SFASU Griffith Art Gallery and witness the unique and eclectic collaboration between the Elements Artist Group and Composing in the Wilderness! These striking pieces of art were created in response to a musical work by one of the 2017 composers.

On Thursday October 17th at 5:30, Stephen Lias (founder and leader of CITW) and Corinna Hogan (2017 composer) will speak about their experiences, the music, and the artwork.

Though the reception is one night only, the exhibit will be on display from September 17 to November 21, 2019. The gallery is open Tues - Fri 12:30 - 5:00, so swing by and see the art anytime!

SFA Composition Studio Recital - Wednesday November 13, 2019 | 7:30 p.m.

The Stephen F. Austin music composition studio is holding a recital of the students’ works, including music by Corinna Hogan. For those who cannot attend in person, the concert will be live-streamed at http://www.music.sfasu.edu/stream.php.

Let’s Kill Mom Premiere | February 20-22, 2020

LET'S KILL MOM, the 2018 SFA Summer Feature film directed by Buddy Ketelle, which includes music by Corinna Hogan, will be shown at the 2020 Nacogdoches Film Festival on Feb. 20-22, 2020. Info on schedules, film industry guests and panels will be posted on their website at www.nacogdochesfilmfestival.com as it becomes available.

Elements Artists Group Exhibition Opening - July 8, 2018 | 5:00-8:00 p.m.

This summer, the collaboration between the Elements Artists Group and Composing in the Wilderness will receive its grand opening at Tonglen Lake Lodge in McKinley Park, Alaska. For this project, each artist created a work in response to a specific musical composition by one of the 2017 composers. Denali Colloquy by Susan Campbell and Triptych: Somewhere Beyond by Margo Klass were both inspired by Corinna's piece Look Up.

Duality Premiere - May 2, 2018 | 6 p.m.

Tristen Rouse's short film Dualitywhich features an original score by Corinna Hogan, will be premiered at the Cole Arts Center in downtown Nacogdoches.

Admission is free.

SFA Griffith Gallery Recital - January 31, 2018 | 3:00 p.m.

Rachel Clark will be performing Corinna’s piece Blue Roots on harp in a recital of short pieces inspired by art present in SFA's Griffith Art Gallery. All pieces were composed, practiced, and performed within a week! Audience members will be able to walk around and view the art while each piece is performed in front of its source of inspiration.

Landscape Music Concert - December 10, 2017 | 3:00 p.m.

In partnership with the Landscape Music Composers Network, MTU's McArdle Theatre is putting on a concerts of contemporary chamber music celebrating natural landscapes. Corinna's trio Look Up will be performed during the concert, which will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. EST. For those who cannot attend in person, the concert will be live-streamed at https://www.mtu.edu/vpa/live/.

General admission is $5; no charge with Experience Tech Fee; live-stream is free.

Denali and Fairbanks performances of Look Up

As a part of Composing in the Wilderness 2017 and the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, Corinna's new piece Look Up will be performed at the Denali National Park visitor's center as well as in Fairbanks, Alaska. The piece will be performed by Corvus with Katie Cox on flute/alto flute, Charly Akert on cello, and Joe Bergen on percussion.
